ACLP Fellows are being invited to offer their services on an American Psychiatric Association (APA) group of representatives from allied organizations—the Assembly Committee of Representatives of Subspecialties and Sections (ACROSS).
ACLP is currently one of 22 organizations represented within ACROSS, thus providing a channel to the APA Board of Trustees.
Hitherto, Michael Peterson, MD, PhD, FACLP, DFAPA, has represented the Academy at ACROSS meetings. Under Academy rules, the position is open for re-election every three years.
Our representative on ACROSS plays a key role representing the Academy’s interests, sometimes submitting action papers or resolutions on behalf of the Academy and frequently reporting back to the Board on developments that relate to or impact issues connected with C-L Psychiatry.
The appointment for a three-year term starts at the conclusion of the APA’s 2023 annual meeting, i.e., May 24, 2023.
Candidature is open only to FACLPs. Application details are here. Dr. Peterson is eligible for re-election.
An interview with Dr. Peterson regarding his ACROSS role was published last year in ACLP News here.
