Advancing Integrated Psychiatric Care for the Medically Ill

Community Psychiatry

Welcome to the Community Psychiatry Interest Group!

Our group aims to bring together all individuals within the greater ACLP organization who have an interest in community psychiatry, whether they be trainees, allied health professionals, medical providers or psychiatrists.  We frequently partner with our colleagues in community medicine, and share many of the same values and goals.  We seek to provide mental healthcare outside of traditional hospital settings, often directly in the communities where our patients live.

We aim to foster accessibility of mental health services, holistic integration of mental health services into a person’s medical care, and development and dissemination knowledge and skills for effective and sustainable practices and systems to advance population health.  We believe in taking academically rigorous, evidenced based consultative care to some of the nations most needy and vulnerable populations.

Benefits of Joining:

  • Foster a national network of like-minded colleagues from across the country
  • Host networking opportunities at the annual meeting, such as the morning member’s meeting and lunch table
  • Provide mentorship and consultation regarding community psychiatry
  • Collaborate on workshops, posters and other academic pursuits
