Academy Appoints New Management Company

The Academy has a new management company and executive director.

ACLP’s Board has appointed Parthenon Management Group (PMG), based in Brentwood, Tennessee, to take over management of ACLP starting April 1, 2025.

Academy president Sherwood Brown, MD, PhD, DFAPA, MBA, FACLP says: “ACLP welcomes Parthenon Management Group as a trusted partner in our continued growth. Their strategic approach and operational expertise will be invaluable as we move forward.”

Among more than 500 association management companies worldwide, PMG is one of only 73 to have achieved AMC Institute accreditation, demonstrating its commitment to delivering the highest level of professional management services to association and not-for-profit clients.

PMG specializes in managing scientific and medical societies, approaching its work with the same level of excellence, dedication, and integrity that its clients’ members bring to their respective fields.

PMG provides strategic guidance, governance, financial management, event planning, and operational support to over 40 state, national, and international societies, many of which are based in psychiatry, research, and brain health—ensuring that organizations can focus on their mission while benefiting from expert management.

The company prioritizes the success of its clients, believing that their achievements drive PMG’s own success.

Last year PMG was the recipient of the AMCI’s Excellence in AMC Client Advancement Award for its work with the Case Management Society of America. As ACLP transitions to PMG’s management, the society gains a strategic and proactive partner dedicated to supporting its growth and long-term success.

Kent Prickett, MBA, CAE, will be serving as the new executive director of ACLP. Prior to PMG, Kent owned an association management company specializing in medical organizations and previously served as a society executive director with the Texas Medical Association’s Association Management Department.

The PMG team serving ACLP is made up of industry professionals specializing in operations, membership services, conference planning and conference content. In addition to Kent, the team includes:

  • Andrew Kimbrell – member services manager
  • Christine Farwell – senior content manager
  • Dominique Butts – meetings manager
  • Stephanie Sartin, CAE – director of association management.

Beyond the dedicated ACLP team, PMG’s leadership and upper management provide strategic oversight and operational support to ensure the highest level of service. Together, this team ensures ACLP benefits from both specialized expertise and the broader resources of PMG’s leadership and infrastructure.

“I’ve dedicated my life to strengthening non-profits and associations,” says Kent. “From local chapters to global organizations, I’ve helped associations of all sizes become more agile, impactful, and future-ready. I am ready to take an already thriving Academy to the next level and build something even more extraordinary.”
