Lifelong Learning
The ACLP Lifelong Learning Subcommittee is committed to facilitating both lifelong learning and maintenance of certification to practice C-L Psychiatry. With that in mind, the subcommittee is creating resources to reach these goals:
Virtual Journal Club:
ACLP Virtual Journal Club sessions are held every two months and focus on articles from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology’s (ABPN’s) Article-Based Continuing Certification pathway for C-L Psychiatry. All sessions are recorded and available at the links below:

Performance in Practice (PIP) Tools
The maintenance of certification (MOC) program developed by the ABPN includes 4 components, one of which calls for demonstrating improvement in medical practice (performance in practice [PIP]). Below please find two tools, both of which have been approved by the ABPN for use by the membership of the ACLP.
- Monitoring for side effects of antipsychotic medications (valid through December 31, 2027)
- Evaluation for substance use disorders (valid through July 31, 2027
- Guide to Maintenance of Certification (this resource provides a summary of the publicly available information to better understand the ABPN requirements, subject to change, consult ABPN directly for the latest information)
Self-Assessment CME
The Lifelong Learning Subcommittee reviews and creates the annual meeting self-assessment to provide the valuable SA-CME.
