‘We are committed to fostering a sense of belonging, connection, and identity within the ACLP community’
The Academy’s new president is E. Sherwood Brown, MD, PhD, FACLP. Dr. Brown received the symbolic gavel from ACLP president (2023-2024) Madeleine Becker, MD, MA, FACLP, ABOIM, at the business meeting after CLP 2024 in Miami.
Looking forward to the year ahead, Dr. Brown says: “We are committed to fostering a sense of belonging, connection, and identity within the ACLP community.
“In the coming year, we plan to expand participation in our Caucuses, SIGs, and Forums to strengthen relationships between members. We will also continue to raise the profile of ACLP and build collaborative partnerships with other organizations.
“We want to learn from our members about how the Academy can best support their educational and professional development needs. We will encourage open discussions of topics relevant to C-L Psychiatry and are dedicated to ensuring diverse perspectives are included.”
Dr. Brown says he is honored to be working with Chris Celano, MD, FACLP, program chair, and Erica Baller, MD, assistant program chair, to develop, what they hope will be, an outstanding program for the 2025 Annual Meeting in San Antonio.
The meeting theme will focus on how investigation and innovation will shape the future of C-L Psychiatry.
