We are very excited to invite you to join us for the 2025 ACLP Annual Meeting in San Antonio, TX, from November 19-22. The Annual Meeting Committee has already been hard at work creating a program that focuses on this year’s theme: Innovation in C-L Psychiatry: Exploring the Promise and Pitfalls of New Approaches.

This year’s meeting will include plenary presentations about the potential clinical applications of artificial intelligence and large language models, advances in women’s mental health, and the use of optogenetics to better understand brain function.

In addition, we wanted to highlight several changes that will be happening this year:

  • The Annual Meeting is starting earlier! Given the ever-increasing number of submissions, this year’s Annual Meeting will officially begin at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, November 19. The afternoon will be full of exciting general sessions and will be followed by our first (of two) poster sessions. Starting the meeting on Wednesday afternoon will allow us to accept more than 20 additional general sessions, as well as more brief oral papers and posters.
  • Based on feedback from Annual Meeting attendees, we have listed high-priority topic areas for this year’s meeting on our submission guidance page.

Topics include the practice of C-L Psychiatry in non-academic settings and with diverse populations, the neurobiology of common illnesses seen in C-L Psychiatry, the practice of C-L Psychiatry across the globe, and the use of psychotherapy techniques in C-L Psychiatry settings.

  • We will be using a new program for abstract submissions, the meeting website, and our conference app. This will make it easier to pair reviewers with abstract submissions in their areas of expertise and will allow attendees to more easily search for sessions they are interested in attending. We will open the abstract submission site in early March, so please be on the lookout for an announcement!

For more details about the Annual Meeting, please check out the Annual Meeting page on our website and continue to check your email for additional updates. We look forward to seeing you in November!

Guidance Document for Abstract Submission Changes

Submissions close April 1

Abstract submissions will be open in early March for preconference skills courses, general sessions (live or recorded), brief oral papers (live or recorded), or posters. The submission site will be open till April 1, 11:59 EDT. Abstracts are only accepted via the online platform. All tasks must be fully complete before an abstract is accepted for review, including disclosure reporting.

While submissions that cover important and interesting areas of C-L Psychiatry are welcome, preference will be given to submissions that align with the meeting theme and those that highlight multiple viewpoints (both positive and negative) of innovations or practices within the field of C-L Psychiatry.

See the comprehensive guide to help you prepare and submit your abstract. Even if you have submitted many abstracts in the past, please take a moment to review the guide for changes to this year’s program.
