ACLP member bids to be trustee
Voting opens on January 2 for the American Psychiatric Association’s 2025 Elections.
An ACLP member, Kamalika Roy, MD, MCR. is standing for election as Minority/Underrepresented Representative Trustee alongside Mansoor Malik, MD.
Dr. Roy is an associate professor at the Department of Psychiatry at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU). She leads the psycho-oncology program at Knight Cancer Institute and also directs the C-L Psychiatry Fellowship program at OHSU. She is a Thread Director of the Health Equity, Diversity, and Structural Competency curriculum of Undergraduate Medical Education, OHSU School of Medicine.
Besides being the current Minority/Underrepresented Representative to the APA Board of Trustees, she chairs the APA Structural Racism Accountability Committee, overseeing the implementation, and reviewing the progress of, recommendations by the Structural Racism Taskforce.
Dr. Roy is passionate about exploring the mental health effects of unequal cancer screening, treatment, and aftercare in women of color.
